AAPKE APNE AAPKE BAD
Play
This contemporary comedy drama is about a story which on the way of its making gives way to something more visceral and surfaces out the best and the worst from the ensemble. It touches upon the themes of class divide, caste privilege, current socio-political anxieties and past traumas. It’s thoroughly entertaining with sharp satire seasoned with physical theatre, dance and a prescribed dosage of drama. Four people have died and arrived in the realm of in between called ISS JAGAH where they must go through a journey to get to the other side, USS PAAR. The ageless caretaker of ISS JAGAH has made a game out of this situation. Meanwhile, the actors playing the characters have landed themselves in conflict. The ensemble shatters a day before the performance. AAPKE APNE AAPKE BAAD is a devised play and a group effort, with its final form shaped by Krishna Singh’s writing and direction. It aims to give the individuals of the ensemble a voice and strives to show the coexistence of different perspectives and the challenges of the modern world.A play better watched than described.
