About Anni.

I bring a gentle, person-centered approach to movement and wellbeing, shaped by a combination of analytical curiosity and artistic sensitivity. My journey began in physics as a student, but evolved into a deeper exploration of the body through dance, improvisation, and movement therapy.

I am currently in my second year of the Dance Movement Therapy Diploma Training in Aotearoa (New Zealand) and working toward registration with the Dance Therapy Association Australasia (DTAA), supported by ongoing supervision with experienced therapists.

Based primarily in India, I collaborate with different communities and projects. Since April 2025, I have co-organised the Contact Improvisation community in Delhi. I work with initiatives such as Movement Mantra, a Parkinson’s movement group, and co-create workshops like Jijivisha (“the will to live”) in Raipur with the Buga Buga Collective.

As a dancer and facilitator, I offer formats such as Join the Dance!, a contemporary and improvisation-based class that centres creativity, inclusivity, and physical and mental wellbeing. I also offer online sessions, particularly for German-speaking clients.

My work is informed by experience in psychiatric care, inclusive dance (including work with people with Down syndrome), and performance-making across physical theatre. Across Germany and India, I am interested in facilitating spaces for fun exploration, creative expression in everyday life, and human connection.

I am a student member of the Indian Association for Dance Movement Therapy (IADMT) and continue to deepen my practice through international collaborations and residencies.
At the heart of my work is the belief that movement reconnects us to joy, resilience, and our inner resources.

Our shared language is movement.
What is Dance Movement Therapy ?
Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) is a creative form of psychotherapy that uses the body and movement to support inner processes. Sometimes words are not enough to express what we feel. Through movement, we can connect to emotions, memories, and inner resources which helps us reduce stress, build confidence, and discover new ways of being.
For me, DMT is about creating a gentle space where people can arrive just as they are. It is not about performance, skill, or “dancing well”, it is about expression, connection, and healing. In therapy, movement becomes a language: a way to listen to the body, to understand ourselves better, and to find new possibilities for growth and balance.
I see DMT as a person-centered and integrative approach. Together we explore how movement can support self-regulation, dignity, belonging, and connection both individually or in a group. Sometimes this means simply resting in the body and feeling safe, other times it means moving through strong emotions, finding new energy, or discovering joy in the shared experience of movement.

DMT can be as subtle as a breath, or as expansive as a dance. It is about allowing the body to lead the way.
